Make and install rocks, add tunnel portals and culverts. Add roads and landscape with a wide variety of scenery products. The sturdy, completed layout needs no plywood base or additional structural support.

Woodland Scenics Scenic Ridge Layout Kit (N Scale)
The Woodland Scenics Scenic Ridge Kit makes it easy to create this specific layout or can be reconfigured to create your own unique layout. I have never created anything like this before and so far this has been pretty easy following the instruction book and using the materials from the kit. I think using the outlined configuration would be much easier but what fun would that be? I am creating a 2-train layout and figuring it out as I go following the same steps. I have the base layer glued down, the risers and overpass glued down and tested the track. So far so good. On to prepping for the tunnels. I think this will take several months to complete as I can only work on it for about a hour or so at a time a couple times a week but so far it’s worth the frustration figuring it out. The kit makes it easy to set up and see before you glue it down so there is some forgiveness with the kit. Will update once I finish the entire thing. The price from Hobbytown was about $100 less than anything I could find on-line. Shipping was a little slow and seemed expensive but it’s a huge, heavy box. Definitely worth buying this kit if you want to build a train layout!
