Team Orion Vortex R10.1 Competition Brushless ESC (170A, 2S)
Awesome! Seemed overwhelming at first, but after a few minutes reading the manual became fairly simple to use. Only thing I did not like was you have to buy the box to adjust the Boost and Turbo timing, RPM, delay and slope. Other than that this ESC is really smooth and the braking strength is rather exceptional. Definitely worth it if you race at your local club or are a Pro. Simple for any Racer from novice to Pro.

Team Orion Vortex R10.1 Competition Brushless ESC (170A, 2S)
I've been using it now every day for the past week and I must say it is very smooth. I love the feeling of the brakes, they are on point. Already it has improved my driving control drastically and I drive on asphalt 100% of the time. I have been using the LRP Flow Works Team (I've owned at least 7) with 4.5T motors. This is my first Team Orion product, and to compare the two ESC's I'd say the LRP feels like it has more punch and power overall, but my driving stile and control has benefited the most with this as my times prove it. Oh btw, I drive an Xray T4'14.

This speed controller is worth the money. I have been running novak and tekin. The vortex 10.1 is smoother and more efficient then both. The software is easy to use updated mine with the latest stock firmware with no problems. The software isn't as graphic as tekin's redline but with the hand held programmer you can do everything the software does except firmware updates those require a pc. The customer service is good. I was having a problem with my programmer at the start, it would display "connecting to esc" the pc program worked flawlessly. The service guy from horizon grabbed his and we walked through it and found that all i needed to do was unplug the speed controller from the receiver and all was good. Over all lots of pros and the only cons are the power cap is big and bulky to mount down and the higher price. If that matters to you. For me I already ordered a second one.

Very good esc. I really like the brakes on this speed control. I've had trouble getting the feeling I wanted from other manufacturers. With the program card it is very easy to tune in the throttle punch and braking features. I have some Orion R10s from a few years ago and then tried another brand then decided to give an R10.1 a try. Glad I did.

I own 3 and they work perfect. Setup is cake without the box. 17.5 and 13.5 blinky paired with the Orion motors and batteries have people asking if I run boost!

At first I was a little upset that you couldn't change the motor's rotation but you can with the much older r8pro. I ended up flipping the diffs and it fixed the issue I was having but still think they Should have included that option. Overall other then that I am happy with it so far. Super smooth across the power bamd.
