Team Losi Racing 1/8 8IGHT-XT/XTE 1/8 Nitro/Electric 4WD Off-Road Truggy Kit
Im pretty sure I need help as this is my 5th new TLR kit Ive picked up in the last 5 months since April, (22 5.0 Elite, 22x4, 22T 4.0, SCTE 3.0) its the first 1/8 scale TLR I've had since my 8ight E 4.0 a couple years ago and Im quite impressed with everything so far except the manual. Its fine for people who have experience building 1/8 kits, but if it were my first there would have been a couple things that I would have either done wrong or had to guess or find info from tech support or online. For example it has you build all 6 turnbuckles at the same time, and it never tells you which ones are for what location, then when you get to the step in the instructions where you install them, you have to figure out which ones to use as it doesnt even tell you the length of the ones being installed during that step. Again, not a huge deal for an experienced builder but a rookie could easily install the wrong ones as the lengths of the front and rears are pretty close. Having also built 6 different Tekno kits over the last couple years I've gotten pretty spoiled as far as instructions as I think they are the best.

The only other "issue" is nowhere on the box or on this website's lists of required parts did it say that wheels werent included, so I picked up a new set of tires but had to make a second trip back for wheels. Not a big deal as I know many companies dont include them, just add it to the list of required items, at least on the box. The other thing I found odd was there are no stickers for the headlight and grill section of the body which is weird because rules state that truggies have to have "headlights" to be legal to race and this kits sticker sheet doesnt have any. I hadnt noticed that when I painted the first body so when I did my second I just sprayed a grill and lights on.

?I also picked up the optional carbon arm inserts and built the kit with the optional rear aluminum hubs and front aluminum castor blocks as Im always a sucker for anything that might make the rig work better, look better or last longer. I also picked up the TLR 3 pack of tuning springs for the front and rear and was surprised to find that the medium springs in both sets are the same as the kit springs, so if you want a stiffer or softer spring, you for some reason have to also buy another set of springs that you already have... Im also waiting for the matching black aluminum steering plate that the Elite buggy has to be available separately, and to get rear arm mud guards I had to buy a set of rear arms as the mud guards werent available seperately.

I also picked up and installed the same Tekin RX8 and 2250kv truggy spec combo thats in my Tekno ET48.3, the same Protek 170TBL servo and a couple new 6500mah Protek LiHV batteries which is what I use in all my 4s 1/8 setups at the track as I wanted to compare this new TLR kit to my 2 year old Tekno with all the extras being the same. Basically I find the differences to be similar to when I compare my older Tekno SCT410.3 to my newer TLR SCTE3.0. The TLR just feel lighter and seems like it can change directions a bit quicker. The 8ight XTE is noticeably touchier to throttle/brake inputs while in the air, plus it seems like it handles the slow tight corners a bit easier and accelerates out of them faster, where the Tekno is better on the fast parts, soaks up the bumps on the rough straights better, I think its a bit easier to control in the air and is just better where its extra heft doesnt hurt. On my local smallish blown out hardpacked outdoor track I can get pretty similar lap times with both the Tekno and this TLR truggy but I I can tell that the TLR isnt going to be as bulletproof and beefy as the Tekno. Ive already replaced 3 front hinge pins and havent even had a really hard hit yet. Anyway, if you want a truggy that will be competitive on any track and includes everything to build either electric or nitro, this is your best bet. If you want something that is going to be a great basher and be super durable I would probably look elsewhere.

Update: I ended up picking up the 8ight XE Elite about 3 weeks after finishing the XTE as I do really like certain things about the TLR stuff and wanted to compare the differences between the 8ight-XE Elite and my Tekno EB48 2.0 and my older EB48.4, like I did with the trucks.

Team Losi Racing 1/8 8IGHT-XT/XTE 1/8 Nitro/Electric 4WD Off-Road Truggy Kit
Awesome Truck. I had the truck together in a nitro platform in about 4 hours, as Im already familiar with the X platform. I have also built an extra chassis with the E parts. in about 5 mins, I can change from nitro to electric. I think that part is awesome as nitro truck isn't ran weekly during club racing, but we always have electric trucks.

The build was cool, the manual compared to the last few is AWESOME. Set up guide in the back, Part Numbers and Lengths... Its a good resource.

I am a little disappointed that the company refuses to release a kit with alum corners and top plate included.

All in all, Im super stoked to be running this truck, the handling characteristics allows you to drive and be consistent with our having to push all the time. Highly recommended!

Team Losi Racing 1/8 8IGHT-XT/XTE 1/8 Nitro/Electric 4WD Off-Road Truggy Kit
I wanna first state that this is my first 1/8 scale build as im use to racing 1/10 buggys. this kit had alot of issues where the manual was either very unclear or just completely wrong. just for an example in building the diffs the steps are marked incorrectly and if you build off the book you may be missing some seals. with that being said i did pre-order the kit and alot of times issues like that arise. the only ridiculous thing i cant believe, is that they rotated the wing decals so you get two for the same side instead of both sides. the car seems to be solid overall and im sure like my 22x-4 it will be fast.

Update to the updated to the update, I finally got my Kit. No hard time trying to figure out what battery would fit in and till I got it I'm actually measured it myself because the measurement online are not correct, this is my 1st electric R.C I'm going to try to build. I'm going with the Tekin RX8 with the hot wire and 2250 KV motor, protek 170sbl servo. Still have to order a bunch more stuff that I want from Amain. Update to update Jp, #1 I love Amain! After this order clears I'm not too far away from the Platinum level on the Vip. I don't hold this just against Amain, everybody's been having the same problems with this go on YouTube and listen to the conversations!! You don't think the 5 emails I sent is me trying to get ahold of someone? I was basically told to go screw myself if I want I can get my money back, that's it!!! I got those emails stored, so if you don't believe me, I can show you.
Update, I finally got ahold of somebody that was helpful!! What's going on is, I'm on the east Coast so mine would ship from North Carolina, but North Carolina doesn't have any yet so he did something on the computer and took care of me! If I would have just been updated that they were just waiting for the 8ight XT to get to North Carolina I would have been OK. I just wanted to know what was going on so I didn't get screwed and that's the one problem I have have with this whole ordeal, they haven't given us no information!!!! If I knew what was going on I would have been perfectly fine I had been a little upset but I would have been understanding as long as I knew I was going to get it before December!!!!
per-order August 13 still says not in stock when I go to my orders, When I click on it says it is says usually ships within 24 hours its been over 24 hours and it's still Says waiting for stock! No emails other then the one I received 2 days ago saying that it was in stock, nothing saying that my order is getting ready to ship no update since I ordered it nothing!

Wow the release got pushed back again. Nothing like paying for something and not getting it when you was told. If it gets pushed once more I'm done. I refuse to play the game there playing

Update:broke a front A arm a month ago and it is still on back order for another month and a half. If i would have known getting part was going to be a problem i would have never got it.
