The Tamiya Monster Beetle is back! After a long absence, the classic 1980's R/C phenomenon returns as an updated "you build" kit ready to conquer and destroy anything in its path. The Monster Beetle 2015 features the classic Volkswagen Beetle body, mounted on an all-action 2WD chassis fitted with big tires for rough-and-tumble off-road fun. With "Albert Attaboy" behind the wheel, this updated version promises to be great fun for both beginners and vintage enthusiasts around the world.

  • The injection-molded plastic body accurately captures the form of the early VW Beetle.
  • Includes many of the original stickers kept over from the original model design as well as newly-designed markings.
  • The rugged original ABS space frame chassis has been kept. It utilizes double-wishbone front, and trailing arm rear suspension setups in tandem with CVA oil-filled dampers.
  • Rear universal drive shafts transfer power smoothly, and come with rubber boots to protect outdrives from dust.
  • A large dust cover is included to protect the R/C gear equipment.
  • The model has 130mm-diameter tires with a combined lug/pin spike tread. They are paired with gold color plated one-piece wheels.

Tamiya Monster Beetle 2015 2WD Monster Truck Kit
If you're a fan of vintage Tamiya, or want to understand the roots of our hobby, this is a great kit. The body is nicely detailed and the kit comes with many upgrades that honor the original. I strongly suspect the 1 star review is either in error or is from someone with an axe to grind with A-Main. The Monster Beetle is king!

Tamiya Monster Beetle 2015 2WD Monster Truck Kit
I built this kit after purchasing it from you all and it was terrific. It went together very easily and runs like a champ. Out of the box it has great parts and instructions - I found no incorrectly numbered parts or any flaws in the process such that, if followed step by step, should result in a clean build.
My grand kids love the thing. I painted it yellow - they call it the Bumble Bee

Tamiya Monster Beetle 2015 2WD Monster Truck Kit
I have built several of your kits this has got to be the worst kit I have tried to build. My wife got it for me for charismas I still have yet to finish it. First the motor Mont does not work so yesterday I tried to put the wheels on the rear brake drums have I pin that goes through the drum and the axel will guess what you can not put the pin through because with the drum it does not go back far enough to let the pin go through. earlier I called your support and the man I spoke to was very rude and was no help. I have built several of your kits but will not do it again
