This is the Serpent Cobra SRX8 GT 1/8 Nitro On-Road Sedan, an updated 1/8 scale Nitro powered racing car introduced for the GT class. The SRX8-GT shares many high performance parts from the successful SRX8 platform. In addition to the details carried over from the SRX8 platform, Serpent has introduced many updated design concepts to push the SRX8-GT well into the future as well as set itself apart from all competition. The GT program was upgraded with fully aluminum bulkheads, suspension brackets and center 2 speed mounts all included in the kit. The 7075-T6, components are all black anodized with Silver shiny edges, adding definition and style to the finished product. Being involved with the Gt category from almost the beginning, Serpent has understood the direction and path necessary to produce a race winning car. With the S811-GT being Designer Billy Easton’s first GT, mating his knowledge of design with team drivers Joaquin Desoto and his son, as well as countless other Serpent Team members, an unbeatable match was produced for the GT series.

Features:

  • Chassis:
    • Designed with the narrowest chassis possible with increased corner clearance to give you optimal roll and lean in all directions.
    • Serpent has designed the front of the chassis to adhere to the ROAR and IFMAR rules of a minimum kick-up angle, while increasing clearance, for curbs, uneven track and under heavy braking.
    • Allows for a nice mounting surface and easy to find body posts as they will be facing fully vertical.
    • SRX8-GT chassis comes equipped with holes pre-drilled into the chassis for optional weights.
    • Weights will be sold separately, but the chassis is ready to accept them.
  • Suspension Brackets:
    • Made from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy
    • Vertically adjustable so you can fine tune your GT to any condition. 
    • RC shims have been added to adjust the roll center at 1 and 2 mm off the chassis plate, further allowing the kick angle, anti-squat and Roll center height to be fine tuned.
    • 7075-T6 brackets also allow you to fully adjust the front kick-up 0,0.5,1,1.5 and 2 degree increments.
    • Brackets also allow adjustment of the front kick-up 0,0.5,1,1.5 and 2 degree increments.
  • Front and Rear Diffs:
    • Easily accessed diffs with with four adjustable positions.
    • Four positions will allow the racer to fine to his model race car from the lowest grip, all the way to the highest grip conditions.
    • Both the front and rear bulkheads share the same Diff inserts, and pinion holders, to minimize extra parts and to maximize your racing fun.
    • Both front and rear diffs can be removed and replaced in a matter of seconds.
  • Steering System:
    • Flat steering system designed specifically for GT cars. 
    • Allows the use of the existing Ackerman plates the lowers the CG of the bulkheads to further enhances this cars ability to corner with less body roll.
  • Speed Assembly:
    • Easy access center 2 speed assembly.
    • Simply remove two screws to have the entire 2-speed out of the car and ready for adjustment/maintenance.
  •  Turnbuckle:
    • Easy to adjust single 3mm turnbuckle.
  • Radio Box:
    • Completely re-designed to allow for a slimmer footprint, easier access to the servos and an updated sleek and clean appearance. 
    • Flush mounted transponder and carbon fiber decals.
    • Box fits a typical life or lipo 2000 or 2300 stick receiver pack.
    • Use either the small transponder adapter and or use the older, larger size transponders with no problems.
    • Receiver opening is spacious so no need to worry about room for wires, or whether the receiver is new or older style.
  • Roll Bar/Handle:
    • Re-designed with a roll bar wire that helps protect the body in a crash but also doubles as a nice carrying handle.
    • Carry the car easily and pain free.
  • Front and Rear gear Diffs:
    • Fully sealed, adjustable and light weight.
    • Viscous nature can be adjusted to each track condition by changing the viscosity of the silicone oil used to fill it.
    • Ring gear is 44t, while the pinion is 13t, giving you the optimal gearing for the GT class.
  • Anti-Roll Bars:
    • Ball bearing raced sway bars.
    • Both the front and rear suspension will be securely fastened and the left and right play can be adjusted.
    • Reduces unnecessary friction, keeping the roll bar fully operational.
  • Front and Rear Suspension Arms:
    • Arms have a captured pivot-ball for the sway bar.
    • Design allows you to adjust the play of the ball as well as make sure you have no binding in any direction when your suspension operates.
    • Stock plastic nut, keeps the ball retained into position. (Replace the plastic cap with an aluminum optional version for a more secure nut.)
    • Both front and rear suspension arms feature arm plates that can be added, removed or swapped out for Carbon fiber.
    • Adjust the stiffness of the SRX8-GT’s arms depending on your grip level and track surface.
  • C-Hub:
    • Carried over from the successful SRX8 is the C-hub front end and long rear arm.
    • Rear arm offers two length arms, short and long.
    • Refined the suspension geometry for maximum cornering.
    • Redesigned arm risers both on the front and rear.
    • Top and bottom arms can be outfitted with nylon or carbon arm stiffeners to control the flex.
  • Shock Towers:
    • Optimized to give you the proper up and down travel for the most demanding Racing circuits out there.
  • Rear Uprights:
    • Fully machined from 7075-T6 aluminum anodized black with machined silver edges.
    • Fitted with rubber CVD boots to keep the grease contained and minimize wear while maximizing the cars life.
    • Roll center can be adjusted in four positions for the short arm and also four positions in the long arm.
  • Front Caster Blocks:
    • Set at 10 degrees to produce the best lap times.
    • Fully machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with machined silver edges.
    • Setscrews hold all pins into position.
    • Fitted with steering stop screws that can be used to limit the steering throw to the absolute perfect of angles.
  • Front Steering Spindle:
    • Made from 7075-T6, black anodized with silver machined edges.
    • Includes a rubber CVD boot to keep the driveshaft greased, to minimize wear.
    • The spindle also accepts five different Ackermann plates: 0,1,2,3,4 (0 is the easiest steering while 4 is more aggressive).
    • Plates can be easily identified by the notch marks in the side of the plate.
  • Fuel Tank:
    • 150cc fuel tank.
    • Includes a plug to allow the capacity to be adjusted plus or minus a few cc.
    • Clip on clamps to help keep your fuel line in check.
    • Overflow/splash shield around the lid of the tank to minimize over-spill and mess.
    • Tank floats on two specially design posts to flex just enough but also provide the proper support.
    • Two rubber grommets absorb vibration from the engine to reduce air bubbles in the tank to further improve the performance of the fuel system.
  • 4-Shoe Racing Clutch:
    • Includes four Carbon shoes, and a two speed clutch bell.
    • Aluminum flywheel is light weight and provides great engine revs.
    • Can be pre-built and re-placed with the simple change of a nut.
    • Can be adjusted with other optional Clutch shoes in 7075-T6,6061 and also Hard Yellow carbon shoes.
    • Standard gearing on the clutch bell is :1st 19t and a 2nd gear of 24t.
  • Two Speed Shaft:
    • Upgraded to properly accept the SL8 2 speed assembly.
    • Lightweight, finer pitch gears increased acceleration, reliability and lap time.
    • The first gear is a 63t, while second gear is a 58t, Both included in the kit.
  • Shocks:
    • 16mm threaded shocks with o-ring seals.
    • Extremely tough 4mm shock shafts and aluminum shock caps.
    • Threaded bodies make it easy to get the ride height or tweak settings.
  • Body Mounts:
    • Fully adjustable front and rear body mounts, and platforms.
    • Platforms are over-sized to make sure the body had plenty to rest on and held in place with a sold metal pin.
    • The posts are extra-long, allowing them to be cut to length depending on what body is preferred and positioned with the use of a threaded screw.
  • Engine Mounts:
    • Redesigned upper engine mount and lower plates.
    • Upgraded appearance with improved strength.
  • Rear Diffuser:
    • Provides more stability, ease of driving, better air flow in and out of the body and faster lap times.
  • Front Bumper:
    • Over-sized, large foam bumper firmly mounted between the upper and lower bumper.
    • Solid mounting allows for more direct impact and ensures the car will be properly protected.
