2 months shy of a year in my truggy (Tekno ET-48) as a steering servo this puppy has gotten REALLY sloppy (front tires are extremely "wobbly" due to the servo's core wiggling around). We will see how Savox takes care of me as a customer... but to be honest, a $100 servo should last longer than a year! I will update this review when I find out how the warranty process goes.
Savox has decided to replace my servo! Hopefully this will not happen again in the future!
Excellent servo for a truggy on steering. Strong and fast has been running it for months now and its problem free
Love this servo. Been running it in my 1/8 truggy no problems at all. Would highly recommend for any 1/8 platform.
I am using this as a single servo setup in my Brushless E-Maxx. The torque this thing puts out is amazing. I've got HPI Super Mudders on Maximizer Beadlock rims, and this servo throws them around like nothing. At speed, it is quick enough to overturn the truck. Word of caution - If your BEC isn't strong enough, your receiver will brown out if you cycle the steering enough.
Excellent servo, strong and fast, especially on 7.4V. I use one in my Tekno MT410 and Tekno ET48.3
Great servo, amazing power! I use this in my Axial Wraith and couldn't be happier! I've been using it for over a year at 7.4v with a BEC and it runs flawlessly. Highly recommended!
After doing a lot of research, I picked up one of these as an upgrade for my Tekno MT410, which I had equipped with a cheap "high-torque" servo when I first built it. The difference between the cheap servo and a real high-torque AND high-speed servo like the 1270TG is amazing. Sure, it can flick my big Duratrax 3.8" MT tires around at a dead stop, which is a neat party trick, but more importantly, it lets me do instant corrections when taking jumps, and even mid-air. The ability to very quickly point rotational mass in a different direction makes all the difference in controlling a big, heavy truck at speed.
I'm running at 7.5V with a Castle Mamba Monster 2 (Castle only has 5.5, 6, 7.5, and 8V settings, not 7.4). Works perfectly. If you've got the BEC to drive it, I don't think you'll find any servo even close to the 1270TG at its pricepoint. Digital, titanium, high-voltage, extreme torque AND speed, and a compact size. This thing has it all.
Sharing my experience.... Savox servos have gotten me around many-a-track so I opted to stick one in my U4RC build. Drove to the crawl spot to test out the new steering and chipped a tooth halfway through the first pack. However, the hit it took was something fierce so I'll admit, something had to give. All in all I shoulda went steel gears, Ti was a bad call on my part. I wouldn't put this in another U4 but would be willing to bet this servo is GREAT in other applications.
Just my experience. I have 4 of these servos on the ailerons of my 120cc airplane. 2 on each aileron. the outer servos on both ailerons have worn out very soon, it still works fine but the speed has become much slower and after an inspection it is the electric motor inside the servos which is worn out and has become harder and slower. I have less than 30 flights on my airplane and it should last a lot longer even thought i do extreme 3d maneuvers at very high rates and fast speeds. For the price i rather buy MKS from now on.
Ran in my SCX10 II kit with a pretty much stock kit for about 2 years. Have run this on the rocks, in the dirt, water and snow and never failed me. I've since changed to a heavy build [RC4WD Blazer with roll bar, spare tire and all the brass knuckles, c hubs, axle shafts, scale disc brakes] and it's still doing great.
Highly recommended for the balance between torque, speed and price.
It has no silicone seal, I enter water. I expected more from a brand like this, it's also
Installed it on traxxas trx-4, also installed BEC kit tra2262 for power delivery and metal steering horn. At the beginning it worked very well, but after one month it started to move randomly at high amplitude non stop, getting hot very fast. The car is impossible to drive. I had to remove it and put back the stock servo and is working ok, so the problem is in the servo savox. Here i see another review with the same problem, and savox replaced it, but i dont live in usa and postal could be expensive, so why i tried to find a good servo, and this one is not the case. I am dissapointed.
I have been running this in my SCX10 II for a few months now. I run it with a castle b e c. My truck is a little heavy, it throws the tires around even in vertical position with no problem.definitely happy with the purchase.
