Savage High-Performance Suspension Conversion Set by HPI Racing
This product was added to our catalog on December 22, 2011.
This is an optional HPI Savage High-Performance Suspension Conversion Set, and is intended for use with the HPI Savage family of monster trucks. The Savage Suspension Conversion Set fits all Savage trucks and includes Aluminum Upper Arm Braces, Aluminum Knuckles, Aluminum Knuckle Carriers, Aluminum Rear Spindles Carriers, Adjustable Upper Arm Set, thread lock, screws, wrench and complete installation instructions.
The conversion set lowers the roll center, improves steering response and provides more suspension tuning options for faster lap times on the race track. The machined billet aluminum parts dramatically increase the strength and durability of the truck. All alloy parts are purple for a custom look that matches other HPI factory option parts.
To extract every ounce of driving performance from your Savage, HPI recommends the addition of Nubsz Conversion Set with 17mm UV Joints (HPI87232 or HPI87233) along with the Savage Low CG Racing Chassis Set in addition to this Suspension Conversion Set (HPI87248). This is the ultimate set of modifications to drastically change the Savages' driving characteristics and to transform the Savage to an all out race capable machine, while maintaining the trademark Savage "bashability!"
- The Aluminum Knuckles and Aluminum Knuckle Carrier add more caster angle for improved handling characteristics. With the increase in caster, this gives a more responsive driving input while on the throttle and better turn in capabilities.
- The Aluminum Rear Spindle Carrier is stronger and adds more durability. Built-in toe angle also eliminates the need for the stock toe linkage rod assembly for a simple and clean rear suspension.
- The Aluminum Upper Arm Brace adjusts the roll center by changing the location of the inner camber link mounts. This reduces the amount of chassis roll, improving overall on-track performance. While the Adjustable Upper Arm Link Set allows you to the tune the front and rear camber angles for the optimum performance.
NOTE: IMPORTANT! You cannot run this conversion set with four front shocks. Instructions are included for set-up with two front shocks.
Edit- seems the user below claims no filling was required to install, the instructions tell you to do this, see manual link below: (reference step 6). Kits an easy install and impossible to mess up. if you drive a flat track where you only are worried about steering then this will do okay, but if you bash whatsoever you have aluminum on plastic parts, no denying that.
