Runcam 5 HD Video Camera
I know everyone likes the Session 5, but that ain't available any longer unless you have purchased a renewed or refurb, and I'd rather mount $100 to my plane than $150 or $300. I updated the firmware to the latest and it corrected the auto white balance issues. Filmed @ 4K and left all other settings in the middle. Sharpening looked good but definitely crisper than the standard GoPro footage I've viewed; but here too I'd rather soften the video in post if you want the more GoPro look. Colors where great and remained so up past sunset. The amount of noise in the image after sunset (dark image) was acceptable in my opinion; very low but noticeable. Considering the size of the lens, not unexpected. It does fit in the same mounts that a session would use without issue. Recording continues no problem through multiple packs with the camera creating multiple files to stay compatible with the FAT32 SD card format. Crash worthy; absolutely. I stupidly strapped it in a TPU mount on my Tri-Copter while I was continuously tuning it and yes it met the ground on a lot of occasions through direct impacts and tumbles with no issues what so ever. Baby Tri-Copter is now tuned quite nicely (yes, BetaFlight). Had been running a Split and had a scary instance of locked video to my goggles because of an SD Card error, never again. I've gone standard FPV cameras and now the RunCAM 5 and am not looking back. It's worthy of your setup, enjoy!
