Excellent servo, running mine at 7.4v w/HW1080 no bec and it performs amazingly. Will buy another
Purchased my first Reefs RC RAW 500 steering servo because it had the best specs for torque output at 7.4V (500 oz), being "waterproof submersible" (as opposed to only being "waterproof") and for its craftsmanship/appearance. After a couple months use, I remain thoroughly impressed and now have RAW 500s installed in my two higher level crawlers. And the RAW 500 should remain as my 'go-to' steering servo for new crawler builds until something better surfaces.
Got this for my TRX4. Great servo. Very fast and strong even at the stock 6.0v. Running it with stock receiver and hobbywing axe esc. So happy I can turn my wheels when I’m in a jam and get out of them now. The waterproof features sold me as I like to run mine in creeks often.
Not the fastest servo! However I run it with my enduro senduro HD and i love it, very strong, and reliable. Very consistent.
I have owned 3 of these units in 2 trucks: a Capra and a RBX10 Ryft.
I am very happy with the finish and the power. Even under 6 volts they are strong. At 7.4, they are *the best money can buy*.
Serious problem hence knocking off two stars:
I ran my Capra the other day through a lot of muddy puddles and got some amazing slow motion video… the next day, the steering would erratically cut out. As this unit is advertised as submersible, I first replaced the receiver.. that didn’t fix it./ then replaced the ESC… still didn’t fix it!!! Last thing to test was swapping out the servo: problem fixed. The little muddy puddles fried the Reefs Raw 500 “submersible” servo!
To absolutely verify this, I disassembled it and indeed found water inside and it smelled of burnt, shorted out electronics. I noticed no defects or wear marks of any kind on the case and the rubber seals were properly intact.
I am hoping it was a fluke… if it happens again, I am writing the manufacturer.
I have this in both the Kraton 6s and E-Revo2.0. Both installed no problem and have been great, loads of speed and power just don't forget the 25t servo horn
Quiet , Beautiful, Strong & Fast. These are the reasons I keep going back to this Raw500 servo. Nothing else out there meets all those criteria.
I have bought eight of them so far and will continue with them.
Fantastic servo. If you have a heavy rig and hang it off cliffs it may not be the servo for you. Now that thats out of the way for everything else its awesome! I have 2 of these now and there both great! Really fast! Really strong! I would put it in a buggy, I would put it in a rock bouncer, Trail truck, rock crawler. Pretty much anything really. Ive only had it not pull the truck around 1 time and rear tires were hanging off a little cliff, and it was full lock one way it didnt wanna pull it around. And this servo is super fast. Like wobble the wheel and the tires move right with it. Its crazy watching it go so fast.
I have two of these installed in TRX4s, one of which I have ran for almost a year with no issues. The wire is a little short and will only reach if it’s pulled tight. I bought the 3” extension and it was the the perfect length. I can now also unplug it for programming without having to remove the receiver cover. This is my go to servo now as it has plenty of power and I really like the programability with the Reefs software.
Really like this servo after trying a few brands. This one has mega power super solid, and responsive. Did i mention quiet.. not noisy at all and H2o proof. Getting 2 more no doubt.
Esta madre esta bien MERGAS! Jala con madres y rifa a lo pendejo. Súper GUAU! Chet men, Fadaworl! :)
Fast and strong. Recommend getting the programmer if you are going to get this servo, you can adjust your CenterPoint and power easily.
I got this reefs raw 500 for my losi LMT, and added a treal servo saver on it. Have used it a few times, very responsive, enough torque. For some reason the rotor has infinite rotation when turned off so don't get confused, once you turn the electronics on, the servo self centers as any other normal servo.
Should work good! Pretty sure it’s manufactured at the same place AGF-RC manufactures their servos, same wires same packaging same everything. Sorta disappointed, but know it will work fine because all my AGF-RC servos never failed me.
This is a fast and powerful servo love it I more than recommend for rc crawling
I haven't crawled with it yet but it's a great asset to my truck after testing the torque and speed in it is unbelievable and very smooth I highly recommend this servo what I like the best about it is it is very quiet.
Awesome servo! Plenty fast, and of course, lots of torque.
Not all servos are created equal. This is a superior servo, with lightning fast reaction, and enough torque to move my fully loaded JT Gladiator around like a feather. I will be picking up a second one for my, girlfriend’s JLU build. Cheers!
I bought this servo for my Axial 6x6 since the stock one burned out almost immediately and I couldn't keep a cheaper servo in it for the life of me. I don't even have the servo on full power yet and it's still insanely powerful, I could turn the entire weight of the truck on one tire with this thing, I can't say enough good about it.
This servo is insane? super fast, incredibly strong and quiet! Running on 8v with a Mamba X in my Capra with 2.2 Ottsix Stickies, and Full Brass Built Axles. .08 Transit @560oz inch torque. its just a beast.
