MST LM Wheel Set (Flat Silver) (4) (Offset Changeable)
Bought these wheels for my Tamiya TT-02 4WD drift car. Watching a few others at my local track left me with a desire to own a similar set that would look great with my Mustang GT4 kit. These wheels arrived with a bunch of other goodies I ordered alongside these like MST’s universal drift tire remover and a set of their spec drift tires. More later on the remover.

When I received these wheels, I was blown away by the finish! While MST claim this is “flat silver”, they really do shine almost like chrome in certain lights. Believe me, pictures DO NOT do these justice! The changeable offset was a really nice feature and really allows you to set the “poke” on your car. Playing around with all the different offsets was fun but eventually I settled on +3mm because it fit my body the best. Your results and mileage regarding the offsets will vary based on overall width of your chassis, components and ultimately the width of the body. Speaking of offset, once you do have your selected offset, you MUST use CA glue to “lock” the wheels in place! Failure to do so will result in your wheel flying off in different directions and overall not being a fun experience so you’ve been warned.

One caveat though when ordering these wheels: while you could mount any drift or touring tire you want on these, I preferred using MST’s drift tires because I built a drifter. If going this route, I highly recommend using MST’s Universal Drift Tire Remover tool as it makes installation a breeze! I also recommend if you DO use these wheels for drifting, consider using a light coating of silicone spray lube or WD-40 on the tires or you’ll be standing on top of your tool, hoping that you don’t break anything. Believe me, I tried and I’m glad nothing broke and I didn’t end up in the hospital so please heed my warning!

Overall I’m really impressed with them although I haven’t yet run it because they’re just too gorgeous to damage and the fact that a replacement isn’t easy to get if I do happen to break them. But if you plan to use them on a display chassis like one from TopLine or Sideways RC, they’ll look REALLY awesome with the right body!

*For anyone reading this review, if you’re not sure exactly which wheel to get, I STRONGLY recommend visiting MST’s website at rc-mst(dot)com and verifying the model numbers to the wheel you want to ensure you’re ordering the EXACT wheel you’re looking for.
