This is a set of two HPI Maxxis Trepador Belted Tires in D Compound. In the wake of "all things cool" in off-road, HPI Racing teamed up with Maxxis International for a collaborative effort to reproduce in scale form, Maxxis Trepador tires for the HPI Blitz Short Course Truck.

The full-size Trepador Competition Bias Tire is part of the Maxxis Competition Division where extreme off-road driving calls for a tough tire. Featuring a unique tread element arrangement that ensures a uniform tread contact area for sure-footed handling. As well as a multi-stage staggered shoulder pattern that provides improved control even on the most difficult off-road and rocky terrain.

These are the design elements that HPI Racing Blitz designer, Erik Shauver keyed into as he set out to capture both the original design of the Maxxis Trepador Comp Bias while also creating a tire that works within the R/C "scaled" environment. Not a simple task, "It's not like you just stick a full-size tire design in the copy machine and hit the reduce button," states Shauver.

While making use of the Maxxis Trepador tread pattern, Erik blended unique design characteristics with inner fabric belting that extends the life of the tire and adds a higher level of performance. Also, the tire's inner-foam is composed of a unique compound and texture which work with the shape of the Blitz wheel for increased performance. The 1/10 scale Maxxis Trepador tires are well suited for a wide range of environmental conditions.
