This is hands down the very best nitro rtr truggy available. I already own a few of losi's nitro models so I knew this one was gonna be good but it exceeded my expectations! Once you break the engine in it's a rocket , easy to tune and runs pretty cool. It handles very well and is very predictable in the air. The only problem I've had is the short life of the stock one way bearing but I'm looking into getting losi's starter box so hopefully that solves that. Excellent price and great performance. If you are looking for an rtr truggy you would be a fool not to get this one.
The best RTR truggy ever made as of now in 2017. The stock glow plug lasted a couple of tanks, then required to be replaced. But after 10 tanks through this truggy its pretty much flawless and durable. I will be racing this truggy soon at a local track to see where it stands for competition.
Bought this truggy about 3 months ago. This thing is a tank. I have put over 30 tanks through it and have yet to break a single part. This is my first nitro. The learning curve on it was really easy. Definitely a must buy if your looking for a nitro rtr.
I have wanted a Nitro Truggy for a longtime, I have owned Nitro RTR's when I was a kid, but I never took the time to break one in and always had problems. The 8ight-t is a great RTR for anyone from novice to advanced, I use to run electric 1/10th touring, and nitro is so much funner. The Dynamite .28 is a great motor, when I bought the 8t I bought the Losi 8t starter box and the Dynamite Pull start Eliminator backplate. I also bought Spektrum S6290 and S6280 servos, a Protek lipo rx battery, batteries for the starter box, and a Hitec X2 charger. I am going to upgrade to the Kit TLR parts and put in a Novarossi Roma 7 with time, but for now I am happy with the Dynamite .28. I am still breaking it in, I have marked the flywheel for bottom dead center with a sharpie, thermo cycled the engine 4x, and run 1 tank of fuel through it at idle. 3 or 4 more tanks at idle and I will start applying some throttle in 1/4 increments per tank. I am using Traxxas 20/20 blend for break in, but I will run Byron 30/11 once it's all broken in. I also use 3 in 1 oil before starting the engine, and after run oil when I am done, always make sure to put the piston at bottom dead center when your done running (the flywheel will rock side to side easily when the piston is out of the sleeve) especially during break in, cause as the motor cools it can compress the piston and lock up the motor or damage the piston. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, I can't wait to smoke some 6s lipo trigger at the track.
Best truggy Rtr ever ,tough and easy rope crank after initial break in procedure ,
This rig is sweet. Alot bigger in person than in pictures. Work on break-in it in now. Still learning the hobby but nothing better than a tear in the eye from some nitro fuel.
Can't beat the price, I'm new to nitro, but have plenty of experience with 1/5 gas. My only complaint is I had to adjust the steering linkage so I could turn right. I understand having to adjust the trim, but the linkage??? If it wasn't for that I would have gave a five star review. Buy it, tune it, run it...you won't be disappointed.
I love it. It runs great and jumps and flys like a plane lol
Overall impressed with my new truggy, but it hasn't been quite as durable as expected or talked about in other reviews. To start, the factory idle was set too slow to start the car and the HSN was set too rich, but I eventually got it adjusted to where the car was startable. Also had A ziptie break of my coupler and a back tire come unglued within the first half gallon of gas. When it's running well it's a beast, I've just had a couple issues early on. Im wondering if the production quality may have gone down slightly in this newest batch. Overall still happy with my purchase, just hope I've worked through the early issues.
I honestly don’t have any complaints it is a all around great truggy and runs great.
This is my second Losi truggy after electric version (which I like very much). So this vehicle version is my door to nitro engine world. And I just wanted the RTR version to get on the track quickly. The price is surprise!!! Just don't understand why it is so cheap, if you collect all the basic spare parts in a bucket it will be much more pricey... I understand that there are some details made cheaplely compare to kit version, such as plastic shocks, two gear diffs and some other things less durable. But I don't plan to bash it on the field, this is just for track racing.
Very impressed with this Losi 8ight-T RTR for the money. Almost 2 gallons of fuel and driving it hard with a good tune and the dynamite.28 has great bottom end and does great on my local track. Truggy seems to be set up very well out of the box, especially for non-adjustable toe and camber links. My only personal issues are the cheap servos and a broken pullstart return spring, which may have been a fluke. I’d recommend adding fuel filters to both fuel and tank pressure lines, and consider a start box setup (would make break in a lot easier) and better servos down the road.
I bought my Eight T 4.0 kit from Amain, built it with the LRP 32X and digital servos. That truck is an absolute beast.
The Losi Eight T RTR is almost as good as the race kit. With better servos and a more powerful engine i think the RTR would be every bit as fast as the kit truck, and that's saying a LOT. With the RTR you give up some adjustment ability and possibly some long term durability, but for the price you get a truck that's almost race ready right out of the box.
I bought these for my adult kids, we built a track at home and plan to do some regular club racing with friends so these trucks will get run pretty hard. I have no doubt these trucks will be hard to beat, I'll update you on their performance when we have a few weekends behind us
I have beat the heck out of this thing and it still hasn’t broken one part super reliable great deal for this truggy
Excellent car, price and quality. I only replaced the steering servo to a more power full one.
Awesome Truggy, you get a lot for the money. I bought this truggy for my wife and she has beat it up pretty good. Only broken part to date (aside from normal clutch consumable parts) was a shock shaft. I replaced the suspension with the 8ight T 4.0 shocks and it has been bullet proof since. I put a Novarossi ROMA on this machine as well, it rips pretty good and is one of the most dependable R/C vehicles I own. We built a track in our back yard and this truggy if set up correctly will keep up with rigs triple its cost.
I highly recommend this product for anyone that wishes to enjoy the hobby at a reasonable price. Just make sure you go through it and thread lock all the metal parts before breaking in.
The Dynamite RTR .28 engine that comes with this RTR kit is solid. I put it on my sons 8ight 2.0 and it has been a strong runner. It is not a powerhouse but is more like a work horse. He ran a straight gallon through it one day at our track. Once broken in and tuned correctly, he never shut it off, just continued to pit and consumed a gallon of fuel. The clutch bearings required replacement afterwords but the engine putted along without issues.
Excellent RTR package for newbies, veterans or anyone wanting a nitro truggy to bash in their back yard or even race at club level. Highly recommended......
Awesome Truggy,Fast shipping all the way to New Zealand and great service.
Recommend This RC for anyone looking at getting into Nitro. Super easy to follow instructions, started really quick and now its all run in.....I cant stop playing with it.
I will also be Racing this.
Fast delivery. Love the truggy. Cant wait to do an upgraded motor.
This rtr truggy is amazing! I have about a gallon through it now. The engine runs great and is very easy to tune. I only have to touch the needles every once in awhile. I can't believe how durable this thing is, I put it through so much abuse already and this things just soaks it up. In fact I think it loves jumping 40ft in the air off of bmx jumps.
