This is hands down the very best nitro rtr truggy available. I already own a few of losi's nitro models so I knew this one was gonna be good but it exceeded my expectations! Once you break the engine in it's a rocket , easy to tune and runs pretty cool. It handles very well and is very predictable in the air. The only problem I've had is the short life of the stock one way bearing but I'm looking into getting losi's starter box so hopefully that solves that. Excellent price and great performance. If you are looking for an rtr truggy you would be a fool not to get this one.
The best RTR truggy ever made as of now in 2017. The stock glow plug lasted a couple of tanks, then required to be replaced. But after 10 tanks through this truggy its pretty much flawless and durable. I will be racing this truggy soon at a local track to see where it stands for competition.
Bought this truggy about 3 months ago. This thing is a tank. I have put over 30 tanks through it and have yet to break a single part. This is my first nitro. The learning curve on it was really easy. Definitely a must buy if your looking for a nitro rtr.
I have wanted a Nitro Truggy for a longtime, I have owned Nitro RTR's when I was a kid, but I never took the time to break one in and always had problems. The 8ight-t is a great RTR for anyone from novice to advanced, I use to run electric 1/10th touring, and nitro is so much funner. The Dynamite .28 is a great motor, when I bought the 8t I bought the Losi 8t starter box and the Dynamite Pull start Eliminator backplate. I also bought Spektrum S6290 and S6280 servos, a Protek lipo rx battery, batteries for the starter box, and a Hitec X2 charger. I am going to upgrade to the Kit TLR parts and put in a Novarossi Roma 7 with time, but for now I am happy with the Dynamite .28. I am still breaking it in, I have marked the flywheel for bottom dead center with a sharpie, thermo cycled the engine 4x, and run 1 tank of fuel through it at idle. 3 or 4 more tanks at idle and I will start applying some throttle in 1/4 increments per tank. I am using Traxxas 20/20 blend for break in, but I will run Byron 30/11 once it's all broken in. I also use 3 in 1 oil before starting the engine, and after run oil when I am done, always make sure to put the piston at bottom dead center when your done running (the flywheel will rock side to side easily when the piston is out of the sleeve) especially during break in, cause as the motor cools it can compress the piston and lock up the motor or damage the piston. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, I can't wait to smoke some 6s lipo trigger at the track.
Best truggy Rtr ever ,tough and easy rope crank after initial break in procedure ,
Honestly this rig is not for someone who doesn't know about nitro rcs or someone who doesn't wanna take the time to learn...im sure it will be a great rc once I finally tune it and get it running!
Great Truggy! Crazy fast! I'm not disappointed losi makes great products.
Got RTR after 25 years out of hobby! This is a very solid truggy! I would recommend to anyone for first nitro! Only downfall is servos are quite weak! For the price you can replace after break in no big deal! Got 2 gallons through no problem easy to break-in and tune!
Losi is top of the line, A+++++ I am very satisfied with this truggy. Break in was easy, now I am upgrading parts for my truggy for racing season this year coming up
Great ready to run !!!!!Shipping was fast and truggy came ready to go !!!!!
I was very very impressed for a out of the box rtr. took it to the track right after beak in, ran it rich still and put down some hot laps. only real downfall of the car is the servos. you can make then last a lot longer if you adjust them properly off the get go, but its hard to adjust the brakes off enough.. highly recommend
Great truggy very fast you are gonna need new radio and receiver and steering servo the ones it comes with are trash I also suggest getting a lipo hump pack
I've been in this hobby over 30 years. I've ran/raced/built almost every class. I'm having a blast with this RTR. Losi`s fit and finish has always been excellent. For the price point you can't beat this RTR truggy. Extremely durable. The .28 Dynamie motor is so reliable and will run all day long with an awesome idle. The motor is lacking a little on the top end for my liking but has big torque. The top end can easily be remedied with a simple gear change. This truggy is a must buy
This rtr truggy is amazing! I have about a gallon through it now. The engine runs great and is very easy to tune. I only have to touch the needles every once in awhile. I can't believe how durable this thing is, I put it through so much abuse already and this things just soaks it up. In fact I think it loves jumping 40ft in the air off of bmx jumps.
One Year Later: Wore out the original engine, I purchased the same one again. Converted it to use the losi bump box for easier starting and added a tuned pipe. The thing is still a champ, landed upside-down off one of the big jumps last week and bent the rear shock tower. The extra power of the tuned pipe and not having the pull starting system stripped the rear diff. Replaced the gears and shimmed it up tighter, no problems since. I also serviced the center diff and used 100k fluid this time to get better performance in soft sand. I now only use the 3.8" badlands from proline on this truggy. Overall this has been a very reliable truggy.
I am on my 4th outing with this truggy the plastic shock caps pop off constantly on small jumps not even 2ft the rear diff is blown lost count on how many small parts have broken i am very disappointed the only reason it gets 2 stars is because the engine is not to bad holds a good tune work horse engine lots of bottom end slow on the top end no speed but stays running well 2 gallons so far but after the rear diff started grinding i am done i am going to get a mugen mbx8t maybe a high end kit will be more durable. at least i hope so all the parts on this peace of crap cost more than i paid for the whole car.
also I have been reading these reviews who do you guys get to sit in a little room and write all these fake reviews a 40 ft bmx track and no damage what pipe are you smoking if i tried that with mine there would be nothing left to fix it would blow apart just a big pile of broken plastic.
This rig is sweet. Alot bigger in person than in pictures. Work on break-in it in now. Still learning the hobby but nothing better than a tear in the eye from some nitro fuel.
Can't beat the price, I'm new to nitro, but have plenty of experience with 1/5 gas. My only complaint is I had to adjust the steering linkage so I could turn right. I understand having to adjust the trim, but the linkage??? If it wasn't for that I would have gave a five star review. Buy it, tune it, run it...you won't be disappointed.
I love it. It runs great and jumps and flys like a plane lol
Overall impressed with my new truggy, but it hasn't been quite as durable as expected or talked about in other reviews. To start, the factory idle was set too slow to start the car and the HSN was set too rich, but I eventually got it adjusted to where the car was startable. Also had A ziptie break of my coupler and a back tire come unglued within the first half gallon of gas. When it's running well it's a beast, I've just had a couple issues early on. Im wondering if the production quality may have gone down slightly in this newest batch. Overall still happy with my purchase, just hope I've worked through the early issues.
I honestly don’t have any complaints it is a all around great truggy and runs great.
