Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
So my initial first impressions out of the box:

-This has to be the most race ready/capable RTR I've ever seen! So many tuning options; droop screws, swaybars included, threaded shocks, along with the usual tuning options. It even includes shock shaft boots!
-there is thread lock on everything! and I mean everything, even the plastic I think. Those hex screws into plastic were a PITA to break loose lol.
-Radio does not have enough settings on it. Its lacking the ability to dial out/in how much throw the servos give out. You can hear them over exerting themselves, no way to set say throttle to full and then back off.
-Steering servo does not center correctly from either direction, left or right. Will monitor and report back if more correction then needed is warranted because of such. Could it be the servo saver is too tight?
-Fixed length turnbuckles do not bind at the rod ends like they do on the 3.0's
-Clutch/Spur make much more noise than my son's Kyosho Inferno NEO 2.0 and a little rough to boot. Gear mesh is fine though. Maybe its just like that?!? (new to 1/8 nitro buggy so it very well could just be normal)
-currently debating if I want to swap out the kit supplied oils for TLR 35/30. The oil feels much more solid than my son's Kyosho Inferno RTR which was softer than a marshmallow.

Track Day Impressions:

Took it out to the track along with my son and his buggy.

TO start off, for whatever reason, I cant set the brake bias on this. It just straight locks up, but I manged to make it lock up less than it was.(yes I used the threadable linkage, if i go any more the rod will back out of the hole!)
-With that said, our local track has quite a few hairpins so I was able to go in, tap the brakes while turning and pitch it sideways and square it up a lot better coming out of the corners in a very controllable slide.
-Settings out of the box, it has quite a bit of on power push, easily corrected by moving the front shocks to the inner mounting hole on the arm, however, still a slight hint of push. Might switch to my track preferred Blockades to see if that cures it.
-Lost a body clip on one of the crashes, but then found someone elses thats been sitting there for a while while turn marshalling lol.

Also noted, the car nose dives off jumps so you definitely have to stay on it a bit. Nothing is binding, and brakes arent engaging prematurely...I'll double check just in case...any cure for this?

Overall, not bad and definitely recommended. Handles very well out of the box. It is quick and fluid and handles the bumps and jumps like one should expect being built upon a race winning platform. Cant wait to slowly upgrade this with key components and more track time to see what it can really do. Definitely need to get the rust off after 10+years away lol

I already have the 3.0E Shock Towers and 16mm shocks on the way!

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
Just awesome. Perfect for getting into 1/8th nitro. Put a baja VW body on mine and have bashed it for 4 gallons plus break in. The only failure has been one throttle servo at about two gallons froze up at 3/4 throttle! Had a wild time trying to chase it down, flew off a tree a van,the basketball hoop stand and the house before I could get a hold of it and shut it down. Other than the servo and a pull starter failure (Which amain replaced, Thanks Amain!) and a silicon exhaust coupler nothing broken, motor runs awesome, been through many sets of tires. Easy to drive and tough and durable with bug body. I bought another one for spares!! 5 stars for sure for the price.
Update: Have run and run and run these, they are awesome for the price, super tough, I added upgraded servos and shocks and have 2 of the RTR's with upgraded servos, shocks, dynamite pipes and Novarossi engines, they take an incredible amount of abuse, just run the heck out of them and have yet to break anything in drive train or suspension, Rolled them smashed them bashed them just amazing! Stock engines are good but will last about 4-5 gallons of nitro before letting loose. Add the dynamite long life clutch shoes for low maintenance on clutch, good investment for minimal downtime. Do your preventive maintenance, lubing the gear boxes, cleaning and lubing bearings, air cleaners, keep batteries charged etc. and they will treat ya right. I have over 15 gallons on one (Maybe 20) and at least 10 gallons on the other chassis, amazing. I did set them up for electric starters which I recommend if your going to run them a lot. For sure 5 stars on these, Best RC's I have owned, love them.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
This R/C is sturdy. I've run into things, rolled it, and accidentally jumped it into a bush. I have yet to have anything break. It's easy to control and tune; this makes it a good platform for beginners in nitro. The tunability of the suspension is easy and straight forward. The only issues that i have had with it so far are as follows:

The throttle linkage rubs on the body.
The body is tight around the exhaust and melting a small portion. I cut the body to fit better around the exhaust.
While the tires are good for soft surfaces, hard surfaces will shred the front tires. I upped the center diff from 7k to 15k and have no tread on any of the tires, but now it slides.
The servos are fairly weak and i have had to adjust throttle linkage to compensate for the increased bushing play.

Otherwise, i thoroughly enjoy and recommend this R/C.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
I have had this rc for 3 years now. I am convinced that the .21 nitro engine is unkillable. I have massively overheated it, ran it lean, ran it rich, locked it up a few times, and it still runs great. I have also ran well over 15 gallons of fuel through it. The engine also holds a tune better than any other nitro i have ever owned. The car itself is an absolute tank. I have yet to break a single part. It jumps and handles great. The only parts I have had to replace are the clutch bearings 2 times, clutch shoes 2 times, and glow plugs. If you are looking for a nitro to learn on or to just bash around. You can't go wrong with this rc.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
This is a great RTR buggy. LOSI makes a top quality and detailed design. Comes with the perfect settings for the engine break-in and is very easy to adjust tuning when you are done with that and ready to go racing. Although it is not necessary, there are plenty of upgrade options available. Probably the best bang for your buck.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
A great package deal that only requires a few extras to get on the dirt. After the break in process this last week I took it out on the track and really had fun with it. The only nags I have with the set up out of the box are the engine startups and settings with the stock directions. The other and fixable item would be to include a longer rubber connector to the engine and expansion chamber. As it is I took the car end over end and general pile drivers that completely dislodged the zip tied rubber hose off the engine side. Easy to fix with a longer rubber tube.
The buggy is sweet though!!! Best bang for your dollars. I'm one happy puppy!!
Losi is awesome and Amain made it happen.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
Great price for a very complete basic Team Losi 8eight 1/8 scale buggy. I couldn't believe that it actually had reciever batteries (take note Traxxas!).. The car was standard Losi awesome equipment. Just break in the niro engine engine and you are ready to rip. Upgrade if you wish, or buy a kit Losi 8eight and build a really bad ass buggy. Great buy at $350 bucks

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
I bought this buggy for a new 1/8 scale basher,And I must say for 350.00 bucks it's not bad. Engine broke in nice and holds a tune ok for a sub 100.00 engine, and it's pretty strong too. This buggy handles very good,i'm really liking it.I can say this get the dynamite pipe as the stock coupler comes apart easy.

It’s a great rtr 1/8 buggy. I don’t race , just mainly bashing around with my sons. It is durable, fast and easy to tune. I have had zero issues from this buggy and definitely recommend it.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
Unfortunately my son still has not been able to enjoy the car. It was ordered on the 15th and due to arrive on the 17th and was the one thing my son really wanted for Christmas. I figured this was a great deal and most importantly would be here in time. I am very disappointed and am still trying to get the car. Granted FedEx has had a crazy holiday this year but this was In Stock and should not have taken this long. Hopefully I get it soon or I will be asking for a refund and go somewhere else.

Losi 8IGHT Nitro 1/8 4WD RTR Buggy w/DX2E Radio
Great buggy. Preset suspension settings were not good for my local track. I also broke a shock first time out now I have the 16mm aluminum shocks and runs great with them. If you plan to race upgrade the exhaust my rubber coupler keep coming off. Going to try a upgraded exhaust that the hobby shop had laying around used. Also to help save your differentials from going bad rebuild them from time to time as a racer I do mine about every 2 weeks or 3 times out racing or practicing. I also would recommend upgrading the diffs to the 4.0 diffs with H.D cases. Also save some money for a motor after 3 gallons of fuel the motor will start to go bad. If you are going to race a buggy buy a kit.
