Losi 22S 1/10 RTR 2WD Brushless Short Course Truck (K&N)
WOW!!! THIS IS A SLASH KILLER, BUY THIS. WAY BETTER TRUCK AND VALUE. WAY BETTER MATERIALS, COMPONENTS, LOOKS, PERFORMANCE AND CRAFTMANSHIP and its LCG!!!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! What a tough truck, and super fast on 2S Lipo! The K&N scheme looks 10 times better in person. I wanted the MAXXIS, but Im so glad I got this one. For comparison, I bought this to bash around with, with my kids. I race a Tekno EB410.2, and TLR22 SCT 3.0. with a Spektrum DX5 Pro

I swapped out the servo for an Ecopower, put 32.5 wt shock oil in, and 10K diff oil in before running. The AVC is awesome when your on a loamy or sandy track. The Spektrum radio is basic, but when your driving you don't notice it. It feels really good, and unlike the Traxxas, you can set the throttle to 50, 75 and 100% from a switch on the transmitter, No programming. My girlfriends son has a Slash and we had a high speed head-on collision with his Slash. Well, it ended his day, but not mine!! He now wants to get rid of his Slash..The only downside is that the tires on this truck are horrible unless you are on pavement, grass, or deep soil. No rear traction and a ton of understeer. Sand, dirt covered hardpack, forget it, you will need the AVC cranked up. My next purchase is a 4 pack of Subcultures.

I hope you find this helpful, for $250 its a steal!!!

Losi 22S 1/10 RTR 2WD Brushless Short Course Truck (K&N)
Truck is very fast and fun. Body looks great and the stock electronics are pretty good besides the servo. Handles very good and is durable from what I have seen. Overall the truck is great for the price.

Losi 22S 1/10 RTR 2WD Brushless Short Course Truck (K&N)
This is a direct quote from Losi's website. "The 22S SCT comes with a metal gear transmission for bullet-proof reliability to withstand anything you throw at it, in your backyard, or at the track."

On the first battery at the local track, it started making a god awful grinding noise. Nope, was not the spur gear or the motor shaft. The idle gear somehow pushed and ground through the transmission case and started eating at the motor. Metal gears and a plastic case. Not bullet proof....

Best bang for your buck!

I don't think you can find a better rtr brushless kit out there.

The obvious question is....how does it compare to the slash. Well, in my opinion...it depends.

It comes with a lcg chassis right out of the box. The battery compartment holds a 5200mah battery just fine so no Mods needed. If your intent is to do track racing, this is a phenomenal value for an entry level vehicle and a better choice over Traxxas.

Now the bad part. On my first outing I smashed full speed into a curb and destroyed the arm and hinge pin. Only way to get parts was through eBay, most retailers nearby didn't stock replacement parts and were closed (covid-19). Also, there's virtually zero upgrade parts for the vehicle, only factory replacements. Long story short is I had to wait over a week for new parts. If your intent is to bash and do some parking lot runs, spend the extra on a slash solely for the parts availability and customization.

My gripes are blamed on physical stores being closed due to the Coronavirus. Once everything is back to normal this drawback may become nonexistent. Losi is a well known brand and most hobby shops should have parts in stock.

I don't regret this purchase one bit. Broken parts are 100% due to my idiocy and not a reflecting of Losi. Whatever sct you decide to go with, stick with 2wd. Nothing compares to the sweet satisfaction of nailing a drifted turn.
