THE Flite Test Sea Otter is taking the sea by storm... and the AIR by surprise! This plane is "Otter-ly" amazing! Whether you are flying off water, snow or land this the SEA OTTER does it all! Now upgraded to Maker Foam this model from Peter "Mad Scientist" Sripol brings the sea plane design to a whole new light. Peter designed this plane to allow for newer pilots to be able to have a simpler design for a better overall sea plane intro experience. This might not be a "FIRST PLANE" for most people, but it is definitely a great intermediate option! This plane flies wonderfully and feels great in the air and looks great on the water. We hope you have as much fun flying it as we did! So, grab one and let us know in the review section below about your experience... LET'S FLY!

Flite Test Sea Otter "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1016mm)
I have this maker foam Sea Otter. While it flew relatively well the first two times, it developed a horrible wing flex the third time as the poorly supported wings flapped like a bird. Tried to install a paint stick, but am having a devil of a time getting the wings back together now. There are much better flying builds out there. Simple Scout, Duster, Storch and Edge 540 are all much stronger designs that can handle all kinds of winds and landings. This is not one of them.

Flite Test Sea Otter "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1016mm)
Very fun plane to put together. But it flies like an otter. Unstable, poor tail design, and unable to cope with windy conditions (as shown by their video). We've built and flown many great FT kits, but the sea otter is one to avoid. Gonna try the sea duck next.

Flite Test Sea Otter "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1016mm)
I'm about 2/3's the way through the build of my own Sea Otter. I've had an easy time building it, provided I watch the build video. I made a few hasty mistakes but I'd have to point them out to someone for them to be noticed. All in all the kit has been going together nicely, unlike the previous 2 star reviewer of this airplane. I have the newer foam for my Otter, that could be the difference. The kit is well stocked with all the parts needed except a popsicle stick. Woes me, I had to raid the freezer for a Hagaindas treat for that.

I'll give an update to this after I fly it but I must say, as far as a foam and hot glue plane, this thing is really solid.

I'd would like to see a better video of this plane flying from the awesome Flight Test crew. The first flight didn't go so well, nor the second. You guys are flippin hilarious, keep it up, keep it fun, and keep it family friendly. I'm working with a youth group in town and I'd like to get them involved with planes, and other RC related fun and I don't hesitate to the Flight Test website.

Love you guys and gals.

Flite Test Sea Otter "Maker Foam" Electric Airplane Kit (1016mm)
Maker foam on this kit was sub par compared to last brown kit I put together. Paper didn't adhere to the foam most of the time. Several "cuts" didn't make it through the foam resulting in jagged edges. Lots of extra glue and tape used for finished project. Compared to my brown P-40, this one looks like a foam core project.
