Top quality.....worth every penny..the glue gun is the best one I've ever seen...very happy with the crafty kit!
I went back and forth on buying the Crafty Kit or getting the items I needed individually. The price for what you get is a little high. All I really wanted was the glue gun, but thought the battery and servo testers would be handy and they were. This was my 1st ever build and I enjoyed watching all of the YouTube videos. So it came down to getting it to support Flight Test.
Glue Gun - top notch
Bat and Servo testers - very cheap, but work as claimed. A little instruction book would have been handy since it was my 1st time, I had to do some research and figure out how to use them on my own. I'll be getting better ones soon.
Everything else I had. So if I had to do it over, I'd get the Glue Gun and better quality tester from Flight Test, instead of the Crafty Kit.
Love the idea of the box opening up as a work surface. I didn't use it however, I wonder if anyone actually has used it.
Be sure to read the details on this one. Pictures an 18" rule, but delivers a 12".
Good little bundle of necessities. One reviewer commented you can buy many of these things elsewhere for less, and that maybe true. However, I believe supporting FliteTest is worth every penny. One thing I am a little uncertain about is that the power packs also come with the same screwdriver, so this one item is a little redundant, but still good to have.
Servo Tester is crap. If you connect servo wrong or battery wrong, the servo is toast.
Voltage Alarm does not work.
Ad Tech Pro 200 is excellent.
FT Hot Glue Sticks are OK, but over priced.
Razor Blade Knifes are OK, but over priced.
Packing Tape is OK, but over priced.
12" Ruler (Standard & Metric) is OK.
Screwdriver is OK.
Flite Test Sticker Pack is ok.
Most all of the above can be purchased at Home Depot for quite a bit less.
The servo tester was a different version than in the “simple cub” build video. There was no manual, so had to guess how to use it.
I loved the hot glue gun: it has a nice “professional” feel to it and I love how stable it is when sitting on it’s base. And a generous amount of glue.
No manual for the voltage alarm, I’ll have to search the forums to find out how to use it... does the “crafty kit” have a video?
A shipping manifest would have been nice.
The whole order was packaged really well.
I also got power pack ‘b”, so I now have two of the flite test Phillips screw drivers. Didn’t need any, but they’re nice.
Not sure why two almost identical knifes where included.
Loved the decals.
I have ordered this kit along with some Mighty mini' and had it shipped to Europe.
I think you should add to the information that, next to your shipping costs, your country might charge import taxes (mine were over $60,-!)
And the gluegun comes (obviously, I guess) with a power plug for American outlets. This is useless in Europe.. had to buy an extra converter to make it work.
Everything works fine though, but since your clients come from all over the world, you might want to inform them/us about additional costs or for example power plugs. After spending almost $200,- in your shop, I had to pay about $70 more to receive my package and make everything work.
Also the crafty kit is quite expensive for the stuff that come with it...
Enough complains... Lets go fly!
P.S. Organise a Flite Fest in The Netherlands!! Perfectly flat county to build landing strips on! ;)
You guys are awesome!!That's all I have to say at this time. Expect my business indefinitely.
I had a good time using the crafty kit to build the mini sportster. I'm new to glue guns and foam board building but everything in the kit was well thought out and worked good. I wasn't able to use the inside of the shipping box as a work surface on my build table because of the deep folds and creases from shipping it wouldn't lay flat. I did use it's grid to get my landing gear angled reasonably well and symmetrical tho.
Very happy with the kit has a very nice glue gun with plenty of glue ,a litheum battery checker "very handy" servo tester Also very handy.,ruler, square, razor knives 2 sizes, cardboard work mat that every thing comes in.very creative.thanks again
There's a lot of handy pieces in this, but the Glue Gun is *out of this world*. I was skeptical, but after watching some of the build videos, I figured it was worth giving it a shot. This thing is better than any glue gun I have ever used before. Like... this makes me love hot glue, instead of hating it like I used to.
This was My 11 year old Son's first plane build and Mine in over 25 years!!! The crafty kit not only had everything that we could possibly need to build the Explorer it was setup in a way that enabled us to follow the directions 1:1 on You tube. this alone was worth it!!!
This kit is even better than I expected - it has all the bits and pieces I didn't know I would need for my first flite test kit.
Could you assemble it for less elsewhere? yes, but I would rather spend my time building or flying than hunting for the lowest possible price on everything I will use, especially if it is something I will use over and over through the course of my time in this hobby.
KIT VRAIMENT CHER!!!SI EN PLUS IL FAUT RAJOUTER LE PRIX DU MODELE ,C'EST FOU
The kit is EXACTLY what a new builder like me needs. It takes the guess work out of what you need and puts it all together, and its quality things you need. More than likely I'll probably buy a couple more just to have em
This is so awesome that Flite Test offers for people like myself to have building one of your planes. I am a Mooney M20R Ovation owner and recently lost my medical so this is the only way I can fly right now. My 11 year old daughter and I have been building the F4U Corsair (she chose the plane from watching Black Sheep Squadron) and this kid is a huge help otherwise I'd be running back and forth getting what you have here all in one package.
If I was to choose what would go into this kit I would add everything you have PLUS an exacto knife, but luckily I have plenty so all is good.
Ok, what can I say, if your new to the hobbies this kit is great!! Has everything you need to get started. Awesome product!!!
The Crafty kit contains quite a few useful items but due to conversion rates (not your fault!) is very expensive (nearly AUD170 ).
Same beef for your postage which is expensive (OK if you live in the lower 48 but a killer anywhere else).
Looking forward to using the beast of a glue gun
Has all the essentials for a beginner like me and the hot glue gun comes with plenty of glue sticks!
Hi, the kit is super. It contains what you need to build scratch planes,on anything else in foam board or cardboard.
It is a bit on the expensive side, I imagine the glue gun is the cause of this.
One thing to mention that is not stated anywhere is that the glue gun comes with an 120v socket connection. For me living in Europe, this ment going out an buying a 59 dollar transformer that handles at least 200w, which in turn made the kit that much more expensive. It would be prudent to add info around this for people to see before they buy. An possibly having an alternative glue gun for EU markets.
Oh and the box, super that you have the build mat as the inside of the box. Cool if it came coated, as glue really sticks to the raw cardboard.
Other than that, its as super kit, I hav noe build three planes on it/with it.
