Dromida 1/18 4WD Short Course Truck RTR

Just bought one from my local Hobby Town after kicking the decision around for a few months, and I was not disappointed. It's got enough speed for me (it goes about 20mph) and the suspension is able to keep the vehicle very planted even when diving into a turn flat-out, which is vital given just how much grip the tires seem to have. Speaking of the suspension, it comes with oil filled shocks right out of the box, and it even includes extra preload collars for further adjustments.

I was told that it would not be capable of running on grass, but I found it handled short grass just fine as I transitioned from pavement to the gravel parking space flanked by grass in front of my house. The mudflaps on the rear bumper are a nice touch as they actually function to keep from spitting stones everywhere as I drove on gravel. Battery life is decent, considering I kept the throttle pinned, and it's compatible with my Spektrum charger without having to change connectors. The battery hold down is very secure compared to the one on La Trax cars, so it doesn't shift at all.

My only complaint is that the center drive shaft is plastic, so I don't quite know how durable it's going to be, but that's something that future me will have to deal with.

Vary great love the design and quality for the price the speed is great to. 100% recommend for beginners on a budget.

This little truck has held up surprisingly well for me. I have had it over a year now and the only issues have been entirely my fault. I converted it to brushless with a 5700kv motor and it keeps up with the 1/10 buggies on the straights at my local carpet track. Unfortunately it can't corner like them though. The two issues with this truck is the lack of replacement parts, and the play in the servo, which is mostly caused by the plastic servo saver. It doesn't like to return to pointing straight after steering input so you're always having to make small adjustments in steering which makes tracks challenging. That being said, for bashing around a yard this wouldn't be a problem.

What a complete disappointment. Worked for under 5 minutes which. A cheap toy from Walmart works better. Poor kid got as a Christmas present, the salesman said how great the truck was. Took it out of the box, they said to make sure it goes forward, backward and turned, which it did. We took it outside and drove it, it quit turning within a minute or two, it started turning again and when I tried the turning quit again causing a crash with was pretty underwhelming but broke the front shock. Took it to the store to get a shock because I was told they keep a full line of parts, nope the keep an upgrade kit thats $60. I asked about the steering and found out the electronics are junk. Not even a couple minutes before the electronic took a $***, what a joke. Thats twice I've purchased a highly recommended item from Hobby Town and twice it was a complete disappointment and waist. So now I have to but the electronics because I just bought the $60 suspension for a $99 rc car that didn't make it even 5 minutes. The electronics were almost as much as the initial purchase price. Complete joke.

The last one I bought was the Vetta Karoo which I was told was fantastic and they stocked all the parts. The steering servo stripped out within the first 3 times driving, went into the store and they told me they didn't have any servos because they keep breaking on them and its back ordered, then they told me they clearanced everything for the truck because the place went out of business and you cant get parts for them. All within a day of buying two of them that they talked up so much and said "best beginner truck on the market" and that they carry all the parts. I think I'll stick to the crap on Amazon that works better.
