The Fat Shark Dominator HD2 3D FPV Goggle Headset has received a makeover to re-establish its continued dominance as the world’s premier FPV goggle. The HD2's hybrid plastic/glass optical engine not only has improved eye relief and alignment tolerance, it also provides an incredible 50 degree FOV! DVR can now tolerate switching between NTSC and PAL sources while recording (starts new file) and will auto save open files if power is interrupted. The HDMI port was beefed up to Mini HDMI to ensure solid connection on HD receivers. Plus, an 1.8A battery provides hours of flight time, and the battery level can be easily verified on the LED power bar.

FatShark Dominator HD2 3D FPV Goggle Headset
These are the GREAT! The sharp clarity and comfort they have is what make them really shine. My initial impression was not welcoming coming from the SkyZone 3D v2 because of the FOV perspective, until after about 2 -3 battery flights (Multi-rotor 250 Quads). I then realized the greatness I'd been missing. The Dominator HD2 is noticeably sharper and brighter and out of the box focuses on the center of the image (use diopter lens if nearsighted to get clarity for the sides), whereas the SkyZone has a wide-angle view that is welcoming but just doesn't have the same detailed sharpness. The SkyZone 3D v2 makes the image appear farther away, the Dominator HD2 is more natural in vision for proximity of items in front of you. The best thing about the HD2 is that b/c of the FOV perspective I crash far less often, hardly ever, almost never now, and that save $$ on replacing props! However, the SkyZones rubber faceplate block ALL sunlight from entering the sides of the frame from any distraction and is better at that than the build of the Dominator HD2. Although I find that once I'm in the air my focus forgets about the impeaching light gaps of the frame of the Dominator HD2. The head-straps and battery is so comfortable I forget its there. The SkyZone isn't so great unless you get a really thin battery and add velcro to keep it snug. I have yet been able to consistantly figure out how to Enter, Navigate, and Exit the menu system the Dominator HD2, it seems to get frozen when in the menu - the SkyZone is MUCH better. The built-in DVR function is great and far clearer than the SkyZone 3D v2 as my only reference. In the end, it's all a matter of preference.

HD(1280x720 or 1920x1080) in titel is misleading, its not even vga 640x480 but rather 600x480
