The DJI Robomaster S1 Educational DIY Robot is an unprecedented and engaging way to explore the world of robotics. The design was inspired by DJI's annual RoboMaster robotics competition, a contest founded in 2015, with over 20,000 students from more than 400 schools participating. The thrilling program tests wit, engineering, and problem-solving skills. The results of this competition have been collected and used to create this exciting design. The S1 provides users with an in-depth understanding of science, math, physics, programming, as well as captivating game-play modes and intelligent features. 

Maneuver and explore your environment with this interesting and interactive robot. Use FPV technology to scout ahead and pick targets for the mobile turret or other accessories (not included) to engage. The robot uses sensitive armor panels and intuitive AI to detect infrared or gel beam strikes, allowing the user to interact and battle other Robomaster kits. AI technology lets the S1 recognize gestures, sounds, and even other S1 robots. Playing with the RoboMaster S1 opens the doorway to AI learning, giving you a practical introduction to the technologies of tomorrow. 

Up to 46 customizable components are available to give you unlimited space for innovation, enabling you to grow and learn in an exciting way that expands the capabilities of your S1, and yourself. Six PWM port and one SBus port support customized accessories, granting further options. Operate your S1 with a remote controller that supports SBUS protocol, or program complex codes with an external development board to explore the unlimited possibilities of the S1 and the magic of the robotic world.

  • Intelligent Controller: Using a powerful CPU, the Intelligent Controller can simultaneously support functions such as low-latency high-definition image transmission, AI computing, and programming development. It also coordinates transmission seamlessly to execute command signals.
  • 2-Axis Motorized Gimbal: The gimbal’s yaw/pitch rotation range is 540° × 65°, offering an expansive field of view for the FPV camera. The built-in direct drive brushless motor works together with the IMU and advanced algorithms to allow gimbal movements with a vibration control accuracy [1] within ±0.02°, delivering smooth image transmission and a precision control experience.
  • Blaster: The S1 Blaster uses LED lights to outline launch trajectories for its gel beads and infrared beams. Vivid sound effects and recoil action add to the experience for an immersive battle simulation. For added safety, the Blaster uses non-toxic gel bead projectiles and even features limitations on launching rate and angle.
  • Mecanum Wheels: The S1 comes with four Mecanum wheels, each with 12 rollers that allow omnidirectional movement and precision control. Front axes suspension allows for added versatility during operation.

DJI Robomaster S1 Educational DIY Robot
My son enjoys his S1 robot so much I got one for myself too!

We battle them often! It's a ton of fun!

Plus what a great way to learn Python coding!

This robot is fast, smooth, and solid, with high quality components all around.

Highly responsive and easy to control!

It's tough! We constantly thump into each other and obstacles but no problem!

Now we're in a club and we have big battles using Conquest Mode!

Someone on the forums wrote some great programs we are trying, Autonomous Sentry Bot is a fun one!

We also have fun projects like adding headlights and laser pointers to our robots! Fun!

We also write our own programs using the excellent SCRATCH programming system. All the code blocks are color coded and translate direct to Python code lines. GREAT way to learn!
