Bachmann Digital Commander Deluxe Train Set w/DCC (Santa Fe) (HO-Scale)
Bachmann did not include a rerailer/power connection section of track in the set I purchased. Bachmann also has extremely poor customer service, matching Hobbytown's customer service levels reaching an all time low.
With that said (once you have a way of powering the track) the system is fine. However, both engines are pre-programmed for the same DCC address. Not to worry, if you happen to have a 100 ohm 5% tolerance resister laying around the house, along with a soldering iron, and an extra piece of tract, you can assemble a programming track to change the DCC addresses.
Bachmann is far too cheap to include a costly item such as that, estimated at 50 cents. And now for the grand finally! They include a short piece of track with a stop for the spur. However, they don't include a metal connector so you can connect it to the tack segment.
When I saw the absolute lack of attention to detail that Backmann made here, I am convinced that there quality control is non-existent. So is their customer service. Go ahead, try to contact them! Double date. And then try to contact Hobbytown's customer service. Oh, be sure you don't call after 5 pm... Monday through Friday. Are you sure you want to buy this product?? If you have an existing layout you will fair much better. Hobby town and Bachmann make a real pair, that is a lousy pair of companies you just may want to consider before purchasing.
