Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
WOW! What an awesome buggy. I love my Kyosho 1/8th scales but this is sweet too. It's different and exciting. I love the styling and how everything looks on it. The body graphics are amazing. If you've thinking of getting one, do it!

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
Pros I've ran this car 14 times on a 5200 mAh 3's battery and have had no breakage. Most of it's at the skatepark some of it in the dirt field. It is actually very tough.
Cons the electrical isn't routed very well the motor connectors will come undone in the battery to the ESC lead has capacitors that really limit the routing of your power wire. the heat shrink on that wire is already wanting to change through after 14 runs.
Over all mine came with the STX radio I haven't had any problems with it I haven't noticed any lag I was going to swap it out but honestly there's no need to. Out of the box it ran straight it's very fast the tires are great. The car is geared well it feels like it goes 50 miles an hour or so in all honesty this car is costing me less money than any other RC car I've ever purchased because I haven't had to do anything other than buy hard pack lipos.

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
The Arrma Typhon 3s seems pretty well built and a good value initially at $300, but fully expect to either buy a new radio & receiver immediately or have Arrma/Horizon send you a new, better one because the included Spektrum radio is 100% junk. The delay and range is unacceptable. You’re better off throwing the radio in the garbage. It really is that bad. I bought a better radio($100) the same day I received my Typhon and then called Horizon to send me a better radio as a replacement for an unsatisfied customer. Second, I also replaced the Arrma steering servo straight away with a Savox($85). Coupled with the Spektrum radio delay, the steering linkage slop, and the slow, weak servo, the car was undrivable. Steering would not center, car would not point in the direction I wanted it to go, would not go straight, immediately had steering trim maxed out to one side or the other, just awful. Same terrible steering behavior after multiple attempts to mechanically re-zero the steering linkage. Bottom line is this: the car operates terribly straight out of the box- much worse than cars at comparable price points. Expect to throw at least $150 extra at it to make it drive as it should drive straight out of the box. For $300, it’s a good value as it is but you’ll likely be frustrated with it until you install a better radio and servo. Straight talk.

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
This thing is tough! The toughest rc I have ever owned. We built huge kickers and I have made several full speed jumps. Not all of those landed on all 4! This thing just took it. I haven't replaced a broken part yet. My highly upgraded rustler only survived a hand full of these jumps. I rate it 5 stars but it does need a faster servo. A good servo is still cheaper than the upgrades it would take to make another car half as tough! Drives well enough that I wouldn't be surprised if I won some races.

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
Here is a honest review of the typhon after two weeks of running..first off the good,it is a fun buggy with a good motor and speed controller it handles ok for what it the bad, the radio and receiver and servo absolutely junk..the plastic peices are cheap and brittle with not much quality..I will say I have had fun bashing this buggy and with more money spent it can be even better...personally traxxas has better radio system and the quality is definitely better, but you do pay more for their stuff, but in the long run is worth it..would I buy arma again probably not,but if you want a cheap fun rig and you are new to the hobby and on a budget then it may be what you need..David 30 years in the rc hobby

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
V2 Typhon is super fun to drive, but don't overestimate the claim of "Arrma tough." I can admit that the amount of stress on the car is huge, even with just 3S power, but in 3 months I've had to replace an A-arm, wing mount, pinion gear, the whole slipper unit, the top part of a shock, several exploded bearings, input gear, and I've glued a crack in the chassis. It's not like I abuse it as in a YouTube bash video. Parts in general are not expensive, which helps (I haven't warrantied any of this). I think next time I might get a 6S version for a tougher build and then run it on 3S. All that said, I don't regret the purchase. Great fun.

Been away from the RC car world and had a few bucks in my Paypal account and have a few 3s packs that needed a home .
Long Story short , " This think is a Beast, and is more fun than eating Popcorn ?" , it's truly a plug and play and is a blast to drive , my original vision to have a beater to cycle Lipo's in has changed my thoughts for sure , great stuff !!!!

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
Great bashing buggy. It is super durable and on 3s it is plenty fast. It has no center diff which makes removing the center driveshaft super easy, as it is a spring loaded telescoping driveshaft. I am very pleased with this buggy and at this price point in is going to be hard pressed finding anything better. The parts are pretty inexpensive as well.

Now for the negative: There is not much room under the body. With that being said, the caps that are attached to the ESC leads rub the body a good bit. The steering servo is reverse mounted and of standard size which makes it nearly impossible to route the wires/caps in a different location. I successfully fixed this problem by installing a low profile servo (Spektrum S6230). It frees up enough room for the cap pack to lay on top of the servo and not smash up against the body shell. Makes for putting on the body easier as well. The Spektrum S6230 is marketed as a 1/10 scale servo but with 311 oz-in @ 6v it does the job at steering this buggy very well. The stock servo saver which is integrated into the steering horn will not fit the spektrum servo (I believe it is it has futaba splines), so I am currently running it without a servo saver which is fine with me because I normally tighten up my servo savers tight enough that they do not give relief anyway. I would of used a low profile HV servo but the ESC does not support 7.4v out.

I cannot comment on the radio, as I did not use it. First thing I did before running the buggy was swap it out with my current radio.

All and all its a great buggy with plenty of speed that handles my backyard track very well.

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
After having it for only one day the esc blinks red really fast and won’t work. I put in a loaner esc I got from a friend and after a couple days of running it, the tire spit the foam out. Love the truck, best bang for the buck out there if these problems didn’t happen. I sent a message through the support on your website and still haven’t heard anything back. Hopefully it gets sorted soon. I ordered a set of duratrax tires today for it so i can get it up and going.

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
This is my first RTR kit, i had several RC's before but were not built so didn't know what to expect. I am ruining this unit with a 2S Lipo and oh boy it is fun!the main reason I bought this model was for the waterproof feature and to run on grass and I had no issues with it.
Its pretty easy to drive but I don't think it would be this easy on the 3S, mainly because the servo is not that powerful. One minor issue was one of the tires is mounted a bit crooked so it has a slight wobble, not a big deal since its mainly for off-road anyway. I actually like this so much that I am planning on getting the Kraton at some point. But it is a decent and fun kit.
UPDATE: I wanted to include a small updated, I have a Tamiya TA06 and its been a while since I ran it, and it runs much smoother than the Arrma since it has premium parts compared to the Typhon. I guess what I want to say that the ESC and the transmitters are begging to be upgraded especially if you are used to something with a faster response and smoother power delivery.

Arrma Typhon 3S BLX Brushless RTR 1/8 4WD Buggy (Red)
Love it just two weeks before I bought the the 3s I was given up on the rc world first car I bought was a bandit after pulling my hair out trying to get it to stop breaking down every time I took it out to run it (not bash it) just run it so after countless hours of ordering parts putting parts on waiting for parts I had enough ...until I found the 3s I love it and I love my bandit only when I am not driving it. The first time I ran the 3s was having so much fun and it just quit working dam hear we go again could not figure out what was going on until I checked the lipo it was just out of power I ran it until it was dead never had that problem with the bandit lol never stayed in working order long enough 3s a mush
