CRF engines are designed to be used with competition RC cars, they feature several technological improvements which are not found inside competitors' engines. CRF stands for Concept Ramella Fabrice because this revolutionary technology was originally thought of by Swiss engineer and inventor Fabrice Ramella.The main technological advancements inside CRF engines are found around the crankshaft which is very different than traditional crankshafts found in regular engines. The central gas channel is angled. This angle allows the crankshaft to work as a compressor as it spins, the effect even increases as the RPM increase. Another advantage is that the opening at the back of the crankshaft is off-centered which improves two things. Firstly, the fresh mixture flow is never obstructed by the conrod at times it has to flow to the combustion chamber. Secondly the flow is diverted from hitting the crankcase back cover, this allows better filling of the crankcase and cancels resonance effects you can find inside regular engines where part of the mixture wants to flow back through the crankshaft. There are also slots on the outside of the crankshaft which are located around the intake port. Not only do these slots improve the balancing of the crankshaft to minimize vibrations, but they actually pick up fresh fuel mixture and push it trough a special lateral canal inside the crankcase. This canal then carries the mixture through the rear bearing to improve lubrication and filling of the crankcase. The crankshaft is mounted on Swiss Made C3 high-speed ball bearings, with the front bearing using a rubber seal to avoid any leaks. All these exclusive features improve fuel mixture flow and distribution which means better performance, increased fuel economy and improved lubrication and cooling.The ABC liner is designed to take advantage of the improved fuel mixture flow and machined using high-precision CNC machines, this ensures the highest standards of precision and consistence in production. The conrod is also shaped to take advantage of the improved mixture flow and is manufactured using the highest grade aluminum available. The specially optimized two needle carburetor is another high-precision component. It is made out of aluminum and composite materials to minimize heat buildup and guarantee reliable and stable settings.
